- Checklens presented with the “Best AI and Robotics Application” award together with IKEA and Diebold Nixdorf
- AI-based system SCAN for IKEA automatically detects scanning errors at the SCO checkouts
Checklens, an AI company from Salzburg/Austria has been honoured as “Top Supplier Retail 2021” in the new category “Best AI and Robotics Application” by the EHI Retail Institute in Cologne at the reta awards. In cooperation with Diebold Nixdorf, Checklens has developed the AI-based system SCAN for IKEA that automatically detects scanning errors at the SCO checkouts. A smart camera above the self-checkout area detects each individual product and notifies the customer via the POS software if a product has not been scanned.
The reta awards are presented annually in 5 categories to companies recognizing the best ideas for technologies in retail. The best ideas and projects are selected by a prominent jury of representatives from industry, science and research.
We are very excited that IKEA has been recognised for the success of our solutions at the self-checkout station – fewer errors and less stress at the self-checkout make shopping faster and more pleasant.
Armin Hamzic, Co-Founder of Checklens
At Checklens, we help retailers to improve the shopping experience for their customers: our artificial intelligence (AI)-based visual product recognition enables a smooth and frictionless shopping experience. For example, our smart cameras recognise products in-store to help shoppers self-scan.
Employees can focus on the valuable and positive customer interactions such as consultations. This increases satisfaction while the number of critical interventions with shoppers decreases.
